Being the artist I am, I have been quite observant of the lack of latinx people in this region of Tennessee. The only 3 other latinx people I’ve met have been the hotels housekeeping staff. I’m always wary of how invisible they seem to those who prefer not to acknowledge their existence. It’s always a privilege to speak with them just for a small moment of their day so they can know, I See them. I once had a friend who said, my housekeeping uniform must make me invisible.
