House of Wolves’ first ever Secret Santa is over! Thank you all so much for participating, making great gifts (really great gifts) and making it pretty easy for me to run it. I hope all of you had fun and it was a good time for you too.

The Blond Pirate (PG)

Title: The Blond Pirate Maker’s Note: I hope you enjoy it. I tried to make it more open ended. I had fun writing it, but I’m not sure how good it is. I was also afraid of not writing Paxton right. I hope you like it though. :D

Horatio awoke to a dark room to a thump and a crash. His breath felt constrained and stifled as he took a sharp breath in. Odd, he thought to himself as he tried to move his hand to his face only to find that it was stuck to something else. A quick little cough came from him. It felt as if he was just breathing the same hot breath over and over again. With careful deduction skills, Horatio was sure that his head was covered and he was God only knows where.

He could not even remember the last placed he was at last. He could not even remember where he was prior to all of this. All he knew was that he was carefully on his own ship by the king’s order and the next thing he knew he was somewhere else with a sack over his head, his hands tied around some pole.

Embarrassing, he thought to himself. The first time he was manning a ship and here he was captured. What would he tell the king once everything had gone over or if he were to die, what would his parents think of the situation?

Horatio let out a defeated sigh just as he felt a tug into his hands. “Mind how you handle me,” he muttered without much thought to who may be tugging him. Though, it did not matter if he died or not. He already failed the king and lost an entire ship. At least he would go as a martyr.

“Mind your words. You never know who is helping you,” the voice came from behind Horatio. He could only assume it was the person who was attempting to untie his hands. It sounded like a man, maybe his age. He would not be able to tell unless he got a good look at the man. His voice was soft, whimsical. If it was not for the obvious youth in his voice, he would expect it to come out of a wise, older man.

A sharp, cold object graced along Horatio’s wrists and flicked upward releasing his hands. Quickly, as he stumbled forward onto the ground, he pulled off the and was greeted by only a sliver of light that was given by the open door.

Horatio looked up at the man who set him free. Old, water tainted jewelry laid around his neck and unmaintained blonde hair flowed down to his shoulders. His clothing had not seen a good wash in what must have been a good few months. A pirate, Horatio assumed by the mangy boots and the tattered trousers. The opposite of the well dressed uniform he had on. Though, in whatever happened before left it slightly dirty and torn with blood scattered around the neck of his shirt.

Horatio stood up from the ground, pushing his light brown hair out of his eyes. “I demand to know who you are,” he stated, unsure if he had his sword or not. If the other man was bound to hurt him, he would have done it already.

With no answer, Horatio was pulled from the room. A brawl was taking place on the ship’s deck and he was being haled along with this stranger. “I demand to know who you are and where you are taking me,” he stated one more time, sterner than before. His brow contorted together as he glared at the man.

The blonde man stopped, throwing a rope his way and kept one in his own hand. “Climb and I’ll tell you who I am later. For now, I’m getting you off of this ship,” he said quickly.

Horatio caught the rope in his hand, watching as the man climb his rope. He followed up as they climbed the mass of an unknown ship. After climbing a few feet, the blonde man pointed to the adjacent ship. “That one there is mine,” he said, swinging on his rope to gain momentum. “You will be safe on there. My crew an’ I keep a watch for the scoundrels of the sea. This crew we have been tracking for quite some time. Lucky we found you in time.” He looked over at Horatio and let out a little laugh. “If you want to get over to my ship, you have to start to swing a bit. Or you’re bound to die here or fall in the water.”

The only thing Horatio could really think of was comply. He could die with his ship, but for all he knows it could have sank already. He swung himself on the ropes and promptly jumped at the other man’s request. It would be the only way to survive the situation.

His landing onto the ship was awkward. He managed to get his feet under himself, but his torso flew faster than his legs, causing him to topple over when he finally landed. Yet, the blond boy was completely fine. This wasn’t his first pirating, obviously.

Horatio stood up and dusted himself off and put his hand on the blond man’s arm. “Now, inform me who you are,” he started, placing his hand under the buttons of his jacket. “I am a captain in the king’s navy and I have the right to know.”

“You can call me Paxton. An’ there is no need to be all high and mighty here. You’re not part of the king’s navy anymore. I’m sure your ship sank. Meaning they probably think you died with it.”

Horatio blinked at Paxton. “Well, what do you suggest I do then? I have means of going home or need according to you.”

Paxton laughed and held his hand out to the brunette man. “Welcome to my crew.”

Maybe He's Born With It

Title: Maybe He’s Born With It || The Farm AU Maker’s Note: From Maddi, to Holly xx (sorry ((that I’m not sorry)) it’s so long)

It took more than six months for Loxley to be convinced into cutting his hair. At first it had been outright refusal, followed by unshakable stubbornness.

Six months of working on the farm had him properly growing into his body, and he stood taller than before. Summer rolled around, turning him from a pale, skinny boy into a tanned, muscular man.

It also meant his sweaty hair fell directly into his eyes, which stung and annoyed him.

He gave in.

“I don’t see why I can’t just cut it myself.” He mumbled grumpily at Tyler, who seemed far too excited as they walked through the busy London street. He practically skipped.

“You’re barbaric. Jeremy has been so kind to go out of his way to make you an appointment. Why can’t you just show a little bit of gratitude?”

“Fine.” He rolled his eyes. “Then I don’t see why you have to be here.”

Tyler spotted the small shop and flashed an easy grin. “To make sure you go through with it of course. Stop dawdling!”

He inspected his hair in the mirror with a deep set frown while the hairdresser, Tyler, and Jeremy all looked on encouragingly.

She had cut it back down so it sat only a few inches from his scalp. Longer in the front, but not enough to curl like it normally did. She’d left none of the shaggy, sun bleached ends. The removal of the length gave his hair a less bleach-blond, more honey-blond appearance.

He looked, he realised uncomfortably, like Jeremy.

Standing at the kitchen counter, Loxley looked out the window, lost in thought. He was considering what kind of contraption he’d need to build to adequately water the scaled hydrangeas. 

He was naked apart from the towel he had secured around his hips, his hair damp. He sipped his coffee and felt rather at peace.

“Oh, hello! I didn’t know you were in-”

Loxley didn’t even have time to turn around and remind Tyler that they actually lived together before his towel was ripped away and a hand squeezed his ass.

He cried out and impulsively rounded on his friend and slapped his face, though it wasn’t nearly as hard as he meant it to be.

“NOT. YOUR. BOYFRIEND!” He shouted at a rather stunned looking Envest before storming nakedly away.

Tyler had cried out at the initial realisation too, Loxley’s ass being the last thing he wanted to touch, but had ended up laughing when Loxley looked so grumpy about it. He hadn’t even been able to get a good slap in.

It happened when Loxley slept on the couch, and Tyler would nuzzle in, kissing his cheek, and would cop an elbow in the ribs followed by shouting. From both of them.

It happened when Jeremy innocently inspected the bookshelf, only to be shouted at for not putting Loxley’s dirty clothes in the hamper. It was met with confused apologies.

It happened when Miri asked Loxley what he thought Loxley might like for his birthday. When Gilderoy asked Jeremy if his brother Tobias had talked about him at all.

He’d had quite enough of being mistaken for Jeremy, and Jeremy had had quite enough of being mistaken for Loxley.

A gasp, a crash, and hands in his hair had Loxley turning around with a smug grin on his face.

“What have you done to your hair?!” Tyler shouted at him as he pulled at the strands, as if trying to pull off a wig.

“I was sick of you molesting me whenever I had my back turned.” He explained with a smug little tilt of his head. “Looks good, dunnit?”

Tyler didn’t look quite convinced, but stood back and tilted his head at his friend to take it all in. “I mean it doesn’t look bad, I suppose. I agree the confusion was getting to be extreme. Poor Jeremy is still reeling over Gilderoy when he said-”

Tyler was cut off by a knock at the front door, to which he walked over to answer. Loxley waited in the living room, but jumped to his feet when he heard a scream.

He found Tyler, looking quite agitated as he tried to pull the dark mop of hair off of Jeremy’s head.

“Oh you fuckwit.” Loxley sighed, rubbing both hands into his dark, curling locks. “Fucksake Jeremy, now we look even more alike!”

Jeremy looked confused as he very gently took a hold of Tyler’s hands and kissed his boyfriend’s knuckles. “Calm down.” He said rather cheerfully, considering Tyler was having an actual meltdown. Jeremy pulled his wand out of his pocket and waved it over his hair, which shimmered and popped back to gold. “It was only illusioned, no need to stress!”

“Oh thank Merlin!” Tyler shouted, throwing his arms around Jeremy’s neck and kissing him rather obscenely. Loxley turned away, and it wasn’t entirely because of the kissing.

“Lox, you can fix your hair too, yeah? No problem, it’s growing out now, I can just get mine cut shorter and yours can be longer, and yours is going light again from the sun and, Loxley-”

Loxley had walked out abruptly and into the bathroom, where he retrieved the empty dye box, came back out to the living room, and threw it at Jeremy.

“Oh Loxley,” Tyler sighed, and Jeremy went to speak. Loxley hissed to quiet them both.

“I don’t even wanna fucken hear it.”
