Congress once again, attacks the men and women of the Armed Forces
Ok… so it appears that on 15 December 2012, the Senate has stripped Section 2864, the HAP (Housing Assistance Program) provision, from H.R. 1540.
Section 2864 of H.R. 1540 National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012 would have advanced the HAP mission to do the following:
1. Expand HAP to include permanent change of station applicants who purchased a home after July 1, 2006, and before July 1, 2008.
2. Expanded HAP to include members of the Armed Forces under paragraph (1) and permanent change of station applicants who received permanent change of station orders after September 30, 2010, and before September 30, 2011.
3. Estimated number of members of the Armed Forces who received permanent change of station orders after September 30, 2010, and before 24 September 30, 2011, and who suffered a decline of at least a 10 percent in home value from the date of purchase to the date of sale
The bill was sent back to the House on 15 December 2011. ALL military men and women and their families MUST tell their congressional leaders to put the HAP provision back in H.R. 1540.
These guys are NUTZ! We need to clean house this coming November, vote out the incumbents and start with a fresh group of individuals who will work for the American People and not for political gain.
