Duujii, a Mongolian nomad bundled in layers of wool against a frigid snowstorm, sits on his horse after crossing a high pass in the northern #HoridolSaridog Mountains, very close to the Russian border. Every fall several thousand people herd more than 100,000 animals over the range to more temperate winter climbs by Lake Hovsgol and Duujii was working as an itinerant wrangler, helping successive families in the multi day journey. He's carrying a juniper branch back to his own family's ger (yurt) to burn as #incense for uplifting the senses and spirit. His cigarette is hand rolled in plain paper and he might have taken his payment in sheep. #Mongolia #Hovsgol (at Hovsgol Lake) https://www.instagram.com/p/Brn2cI9BOqj/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1iyrga59isdmf
