Yeah sorry if I'm bothering you ,but I was wondering if you happen to have any tips on how to describe places/ideas/feelings etc since English isn't my native language and I would love some tips❤
bt’Okay, so those things are very, very, VERY broad ideas and I could never answer all of that in one ask, but I feel like the best thing you could do is to read books in English. You’ll get a feel for certain comparisons, idioms, and other things that us weird English-speakers do.
Also, if you’re willing to spend a money, I highly suggest investing in these three books:
The Emotion Thesaurus
The Urban Setting Thesaurus
The Rural Setting Thesaurus
All of them are by Angela Ackerman and Becca Puglisi, and I highly suggest them if you’re having trouble describing settings and feelings. It’ll list the feeling/setting and give you examples of what you can describe.
These wonderful women also wrote other books such as The Negative Trait Thesaurus and the Positive Trait Thesaurus, and I highly, highly suggest them, not because I’m sponsored or anything but because I use them every day when writing; it helps me with my writer’s block and when I’m having difficulty getting descriptions down on the page.
