his friend Howard who believed in him even when he was a skinny brooklyn boy with a ton of health issues, who still thought of him worthy of the serum, and most importantly, the shield. A really rare indestructible metal that he only had a limited amount of, and he trusted Steve to have it.
And his friend Tony even when they had their own conflict, still trusted him when times got rough. Who believed and forgave him, who hated him since he was young because he was all what his father talked about. Still trusted him as a teammate, and more importantly a friend.
He bonded with them emotionally, and they died.
