Thouhgt it might be fun to show my setup doing my daily drawing warmup exercise studying film by drawing thumbnail sketches of each cut and/or camera move. Currently doing this with Alfred Hitchcock's 🔪PSYCHO. On top of my screen I have placed 2 sheets of transparant film and drawn on top a grid of thirds and a centre line grid. I use this grid on top of the film to study if all the theory you can find on composition using grids is actually used in film and how exactly it is applied throughout a film. And then I also sometimes sketch in the grid in my thumbnails whenever I noticed interesting usage of these grids. Sometimes I just put the centre grid on top, other days both, or just the thirds, just to switch things up a bit.
