My whole life I have turned to making in times of stress. Making feels good because it tell our stress body that everything is ok. Thinking critically, making choices and action steps always feel good when the world around us feels out of control. Making things also gets our brain in flow state, which means we are focusing on what is happening in the very moment. It’s best to work on projects that are hard enough to keep you focused, but easy enough to keep you moving and making (not frustrated). When I am making things I feel positive and hopeful... I feel loved and loving.... I feel confident and capable. In stressful times we have to make decisions and take action steps... it’s unavoidable. But we also have to remember to take care of ourselves. Matching #breadknife and #paringknife setting up in the shop. The bread knife is one of the most intriguing knives I've made. I definitely had some issues and challenges to get the geometry right without taking it too thin. At first, it was just ripping the bread. Then I ground a slight hollow from the teeth about a third of an inch up from the back of the teeth to the points at a zero grind. I had to re-grind the teeth and make sure it was also nice and sharp between each seration.
