i bet you look good on the dancefloor // Howgo?
Howl was at Pixie because for the spell he wanted to cast—a spell for protection, he planned to bottle it up and use it before he and Mel stormed the hotel—he needed five assertive looks and since nightclubs were full of people about to get into fights and people trying to get into other people’s pants, he figured this would be a great place. He’d already gotten three and was sitting at the bar with a glass of whiskey, scouting out for a good fourth candidate.
That’s when he noticed a familiar-looking dark-haired girl with lovely long legs and he grinned. Might as well have some fun while doing work, you know. And even if she wasn’t keen on having fun, he could use a second pair of eyes to look for angry, confident people. And maybe he’d even dazzle her then.
He waved at the bartender, asking for a round of drinks, and then slid over to Sheila, with two glasses of whiskey.
“Fancy running into you,” he said. Sheila hadn’t been one to easily succumb to his natural charms, which made her all the more delicious. Like a challenge. And Howl loved challenges. “Tell me, do you see anyone who looks like they’re about to punch someone? I need to know for research purposes.”
He craned his neck slightly.
“Those fellows over there look like they’re about to get into a spat over that girl…but they could also be about to make-out and leave her alone, so I don’t really know for certain.”
