Any other beings protective instincts flare up put of nowhere?

None of my friends and family have mentioned being hurt by anyone lately.

None of them have mentioned being in danger.

But I still want to stand over them, hackles raised and lips pulled back in a snarl. I want to pin my hears back against my head and bite anyone who reaches for them.

I wanna hiss, lash my tail, stand on my legs and spread my wings in an obvious threat display. I wanna hold fire in my throat to tell whoever is trying to hurt them to go. away.

I want to lash out and bite and burn and scratch and crush whoever dares to intend to cause them harm right now.

I dont want to own them. Theyre their own people. But I want to keep them safe. I hate that theyre going to have to go through things that will hurt them and I can't stop it.

I dont want to be possessive, but I guess dragons usually are in one way or another, huh?

I have to remind myself that all I can do is be there if they ever reach out for help or support.

But the instincts make me want to attack. Defend with my life and roar and shreak and growl and bark at any danger.

Pup isnt doing too good right now. Very tired too but I can't sleep because I have meds to take in 30 minutes.
