My personal Billy Lenz (1974) headcanons

Includes: Mentions of sexuality (not in detail NSFW of course), dissasociaton, mentions of children being at risk of being harmed/assaulted, mentions of pets being at risk of possibly being harmed or worse, we do NOT forget about what he did to Agnes here and that is mentioned, the writer projecting a bunch of his dissasociaton on Billy, the writer projecting his autism/self soothing behaviors on Billy, AND the writer projecting some of his apothisexuality and a tidbit of his confusing and weird relationship with hypersexuality at the same time onto Billy, I use bold letters at the start of each bulletin so they stand out easier when it's the next one so you're welcome, funny little section at the end for anyone else who likes and yumeships with Billy like I do because I can and will add a section like that, also it's gender neutral reader, SO MUCH YAPPING

Again, this is all personal interpretations and projections, plus I am NO expert and am lowkey a dumbass that struggles to even properly write down my train of thought. Please be nice to me :(

Honestly, I do see Billy having sexual urges and dealing with hypersexual behaviors, but also dealing with HEAVY repulsion to anything sex related at the same time. He sees things relating to sex as being bad, something he can use to scare others, to threaten them with since he views it negatively. And while I do think he WOULD do sexual things, I also see him having days where he's so disgusted and appalled by even the mere implication of sex or the fact he's ever had any desire before that he will shut down or freak out.

I also personally interpret him as being in a constant state of dissasociaton to cope with negative feelings with very brief moments of awareness. Whether he feels actual guilt and/or remorse over what he's done or if he's just upset with how the choices he's made will affect him is VERY, VERY debatable to me, but as someone who's constantly in some form of dissasociaton with very little moments of clarity/reconnecting to reality because how hard it is for me to healthily deal with emotions and some trauma stuff, I just... lowkey see that in him. It just makes sense in my head.

I've seen some writings (yes I like Billy he's a very complex fictional crush for me I read fanfics guys) where it mentions the reader having a younger sibling/a child and a moment where they're alone with Billy, and I honestly think Billy would NOT be someone you should leave a child alone with. Anyone who's watched the movie knows Agnes, and what's implied he did to her. I for sure wouldn't leave that guy alone with a kid or a younger sibling (if he was anywhere near my younger sister I would be running over ready to bash him over the head with whatever works best to protect her), and even if there wasn't a worry about him doing something to the kid like what he did to Agnes, I'd worry about something happening that makes him aggressive/violent towards the kid.

Pets. Yeah, I've seen the "Billy liking cats" stuff. I also personally think he likes cats too, because it's just a guilty pleasure/indulgence for me that I find cute. Also I really like cats. My daughter is a cat. I also personally see him being calmed down a bit or soothed by cats (again projection lol) and while I do think you'd have to worry less with pets and him being alone with a pet, it would depend on the TYPE of pet and how they behave. Like, I don't see it ending well if you have a very excited and loud dog for example, compared to having a lazy ass cat. Even then I would still worry for the safety of your pet no matter what depending on again, how he's feeling and if he gets triggered or not.

I definitely see him as aware in some way of what he's doing and it being extremely wrong, even with the dissasociaton to cope with his emotions. In the movie, he stays quiet and hidden when the police are there at the end, and that alone said a LOT to me. He KNOWS if he gets caught, it won't end well for him. He knows he's done something bad enough to warrant having to avoid the police.

I also see him referring to himself in the third person as a possible form of his dissasociaton. I'm no expert though, and could be wrong as my dissasociaton isn't very much in the depersonalization department, so I can't say for certain. I also see it more likely happening when he's upset or freaking out and stuff.

More projection, but I do see him as being autistic. This is solely again just driven by my projection, I see him as the guy to have sensory issues that can trigger him, and have a bunch of self-soothing behaviors because of this, both verbal and physical. Repeating sounds he's heard, rocking, allat. Also, please do not look him in the eyes, he does not like it 99% of the time and WILL freak out.

Of course, due to the fact I like this horrid man who needs to be thrown in a pit, I will include some stuff for like... if there was actually an established relationship or something. More projection of some stuff, but I feel like he'd stay hidden a LOT more even now that you were aware of him because this alone would be overwhelming for him to adjust to. Be prepared for a lot of calls of literally just nothing but him breathing, but still the occasional threatening or foul-mouthed (but less so) call.

I've seen a lot of fics where he will call the reader a nickname with "piggy" or just that itself, but I personally think he wouldn't do that. He used it when he was threatening and insulting the sorority girls, so I don't think he'd use it towards you (unless, of course, as mentioned before, during the threatening or foul calls that would still happen).

I feel like the only way this would happen in the first place would be HOW you affect him. I don't see appearance even being a consideration, I see being if you make him feel positive emotions enough or are somehow able to manage to make him feel a bit more stable or calm. Of course, you STILL have to worry about if he gets triggered and such, although perhaps a bit more. Another issue is that his sexual repulsion will be stronger and more frequent.

I still don't think any kids around or WITH this guy is good in this situation. Also not an option either. Adoption? No. You yourself can have kids? Also no. I see him not liking the thought of that, it makes him distressed.
