Small Howran was alone but imaginative and easily distracted

like this child ended up on the doorsteps of a monastery in the desert after a lot of strange circumstances, like real convoluted, like taking the wrong turn twice and getting on the wrong ride thrice (have you ever watched mr bean’s holiday?)

But at least there he had a place to stay! Except that he was a real troublemaker! Made a mess of a lot of things, breaking them apart and putting them back together. 

And then he started developing a lot of interest in the new technology that the monks deem unnecessary and dangerous at the rate it seemed to be going. But it sounds so neat! And he was still a kid? If the little bits they saw from the monastery was cool, how advanced were the main cities by now?? He wanted to see it all. But he wasn’t allowed to leave.And the monastery only became more detached from the outside world as communications were being cut. And not just on their side. 

Cut to young adult Howran. After years of dealing with his nonsense, he was partly kicked out, partly leaving of his own volition to see the world’s advancements! Just gotta cross the desert again

But there was too much and nothing to see at the same time

It seems in the monastery’s isolation, Howran missed the apocalypse

Seems the monks were right at the technology being their downfall?

And now magic and metal beings roam around and one specifically has decided Howran would be a good way to get around the leftover organic races that like to shoot first and ask questions later

And Howran couldn’t be more excited

The magic and metal beings are Warforged and the one in this story is Nomad by @carniccity who you can see here because he drew both of them once

Does that mean Conri Wolfgang is one of those magic metal beings? or is he from a different story? I really like his design by the way!

Yes and no! They are also a Warforged but from a different story until I decide otherwise! because both Howran and Wolfgang originated in worlds made by two separate friends of mine and I like to reuse character concepts for other stories (especially with an old MOTW character of mine)

Wolfgang was dormant for years before being dug up from an old overgrown city by -looks at notes- “a secret coalition of wizards and artificers who grab and experiment on strange and powerful relics, they have little to no morals in what they’ll do to their relics. It ranges from cursed items to people of interests” (thanks mango)

so if I want to spin off this, I could say it’s years after the world begins recovering from what happened in Howran’s story

Also note that Wolfgang goes by Wolfgang because it feels like a threatening name and they believe being called by a surname-esque title has more respect, while Conri is more personal (and Howran goes by Howran because it sounded interesting)

I’m so glad you like the design! I’m really proud of it myself! He’s 7′5 tall!
