Alright! Now for the bee update you have all been dying for! The hole in Beetrice's wing got larger everytime she groomed herself until only about half her wing was left. At this point she can't fly and is now unreleasable so she will be living the rest of her life here at The Pipsqueakery with her adorable bee tongue and bee toes! Given her status as a permanent resident I also need to expand her cage to a 20 gallon long aquarium so she will have plenty of space to crawl around and explore. While I'm sad Beetrice won't be able to be released I am honored to give her all the love her tiny little bee self can handle for the rest of her life. Libbee is still slated for release but given that we are supposed to release her during 10 clear days of weather that just hasn't happened yet. Supposedly June should be the ideal time for that so hopefully within the next week Libbee can be on her merry way to pollinate our backyard! All in all this whole saving bees thing has been quite the adventure and I guess it's not going to be over particularly soon since Beetrice is staying.
