Was promoted from trainee to knight to captain during the span of the war, which lasted 2 years

Only has one leg, lost everything below his left knee to a landmine during the war

Has trouble sleeping if any allies or friends of his died while fighting, but cried himself to sleep the night the Hero of Winds died

Cut his hair short during the war so it couldn't be pulled on during fights. Also tucks the back of his scarf into his belt for the same reason

Has bad social anxiety around other people out of fear of betrayal (partially caused by the people in his own army turning to the enemy side during the war)

Dyes his hair blond to seem more desirable (blond hair blue eyes etc.)

Was arrested for treason/being the cause of the war a few weeks after the war ended, and scheduled to be executed via beheading

Dealt with SA during the war from Cia, which led to him becoming hypersexual later on

Even before the war started, he'd use sex as a form of validation. To him, someone having sex with him meant they thought he was attractive, and he seeked that praise

He had a history of sleeping around, and after the war ended he was accused of seducing the enemy (Cia) which added to the people of his Castle Town wanting him arrested and killed

I feel like the way I'm characterizing Link post Hyrule Warriors in HP might make a lot of people upset about it so I want to say something about it before I write him in the comic

(Below the cut for yapping and some very brief talk about sa)

A lot of people get upset when he's portrayed as a ladies man or a flirt or anything along those lines, but my version of him actually does portray him that way but it's because he feels like it's his only form of validation

Obviously there are other parts to him — he's a war veteran, he's the hero of Hyrule, he's got some bad traits (when Cia brings out the dark side of him in the form of dark link),

But finding validation in other people's attraction to him is still a big part of who he is. It's also a trauma response for him — since Cia takes away some part of him during the war (SA) he ends up hypersexual after the war, which kinda "fuels" that

A lot of his shitty relationship with sex and attraction is based on my own experience (I myself am hypersexual as a result of sexual trauma, so I personally know how to write a hypersexual character and what goes on in their head. I'm also asexual so idk how to write his actual feelings about having sex, just his thoughts about it)
