The time had come. Harry knew it as he looked down at where his daughters sat, eagerly pouring over their brand new school supplies. September first was quickly bearing down on them and the girls would soon be embarking on their first year at Hogwarts. Granted, it wasn't like he wouldn't be going himself, seeing as he would also be starting his new post as the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, but there was still something he wanted to do first. Adjusting his grip on the items hidden behind his back he finished descending the stairs and cleared his throat.

"Cass? Sephi?" He called with a smile and both girls looked up. Cassia beamed up at him and bounded to her feet, skipping up to him as her sister followed more slowly behind.

"Yes, Daddy?" She chirped. Harry smiled, almost reaching to ruffle her hair before remembering the surprises hidden behind his back.

"Well, as you girls know, you're going to be starting Hogwarts this year. To celebrate that I have some gifts for you two. It's nothing new, but I think you'll like them all the same." He said and the girls exchanged an interested look before Cassia started bouncing on her heels excitedly.

"What are they? What are they? I wanna see!" She exclaimed, making Harry chuckle softly.

"Calm down, I'm about to give them to you. I expect you to share, but there's one for each of you." He smiled, then turned to Alsephina as he withdrew a fluid looking silvery bundle from behind his back.

"For Alsephina, the Invisibility Cloak. Take good care of it, it's been in the family for a very long time." He said with a gentle smile. With wide eyes Alsephina carefully took the cloak from him.

"Really? It's mine?" She asked in a hushed tone, voice filled with wonder. Harry nodded fondly, reaching to stroke her hair.

"It is, I can't imagine anyone better suited to being it's new keeper than you." He said before turning to Cassia, who looked ready to vibrate to pieces in anticipation.

"And for Cassia, the Marauder's Map." He said, presenting the folded parchment to her. She eagerly seized it, turning it over in her hands before looking up at Harry in confusion.

"It's blank!" She exclaimed. Harry chuckled and smiled at her.

"That's because it's not been properly activated. Here, let me show you." Harry drew his wand and tapped it to the front of the parchment.

"I solemnly swear that I am up to no good." He said and the map bloomed to life. Cassia's eyes widened and she eagerly looked it over.

"It shows everyone at Hogwarts!! Look, there's Mummy setting up the Hospital Wing! And Uncle Neville's over in the Greenhouses!" She exclaimed gleefully. Alsephina came to curiously look over her sister's shoulder and Harry smiled.

"That it does, and when school starts it will show all the students too. When you aren't using it you'll clear the map by tapping it with your wand again and saying 'Mischief Managed'. Think you can remember that?" Harry asked and Cassia nodded eagerly. Smiling, he nodded as well.

"Both of these items belonged to my father when he was at Hogwarts, and then they belonged to me. Well, they took detours first but I got them eventually. And now I'm giving them to you. I don't expect you to stay completely out of trouble, that would be asking too much, but hopefully these can help you handle things more safely. Just promise that if you get into anything too serious you'll come to me or Mummy for help instead of trying to handle everything on your own, okay?" He said, placing a hand on each of his daughters' shoulder. They looked up at him and smiled, nodding.

"We promise!"

Here's a little something I wrote up because I got to thinking how Harry might handle passing down those particular heirlooms. I will admit that he was very tempted to keep the Marauder's Map to help him keep an eye on his students, but he felt like that would go too much against the spirit of why the map was created. (glares at Cursed Child) Besides, he knows there's a chance the girls could end up in different houses, so he wanted to make sure he had something for each of them so that one didn't feel left out if they have to seperate.
