I Just Needed You (Harry Potter x Reader)

In this, Harry and Ron return for their last year instead of going off and being aurors. I just don’t think they would go back to haunting dark wizards after doing that for a good portion of their life. But that’s another topic I could go off on lol.

Word Count: 452 words

House: Gryffindor 

Enjoy this small imagine I wrote instead of studying :)

Harry had been awakened by the sudden opening of his door. Years of having to be on high alert had caused him to be a very light sleeper, especially after the war. He saw a short figure standing in his doorway. Harry grabbed for his glasses that were placed next to him. Knowing very well that even if the person got near, without his glasses, he wouldn’t be able to see anything. 

He clumsy placed the glasses on his face but he couldn’t still see the person walking toward him.

Finally, he was able to see it was his girlfriend (y/n) that had walked into his room.

“(Y/N)? What’s wrong love”, Harry spoke softly as she walked toward him. His roommates were still in the room and even though Ron could sleep through anything, he still wanted to be considerate of the others. 

Under the moonlight peeking in through the window, he was able to see the tear stains on her cheeks. 

He opened his arms for her to walk into a hug. 

“I’m sorry if I woke you up”, (y/n) sniffled a bit and wiped a couple of stray tears. 

“You know you can always come to get me when you need me”, Harry said while stroking her hair. “So what happened?”

“I had a nightmare. He was there and he had actually killed you. I can’t lose you.”

It was that nightmare again...

“Oh darling, it’s okay. I’m right here & we’re both okay.” 

“I had to see you before I even tried to sleep again. I had to make sure it was just a nightmare.”

“Love you can stay here tonight if you would like”, Harry said while placing a kiss on the top of her head.

“I really would like that.”

Harry and (y/n) both got back into Harry’s bed. He wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her closer. She rested her head on his chest and was able to hear his heartbeat. This helped ease her anxiety of losing him when she listened to his heart. 

“Is that my jumper ”, Harry questioned playfully as they both began to relax and settle into bed.

“Yes, I took it because it smells like you. So every night I can feel like you’re with me”, (y/n) said as she lightly tapped the tips of her fingers on his chest to the rhythm of his heart beat. 

“Well if that’s the case, you’re more than welcome to take any of my jumpers that you would like.”

“Thanks love, but I was already planning on it”, (y/n) said with a giggle. 

Just hearing that was music to Harry’s ears. Knowing that they would eventually be okay. 

Maybe not today or tomorrow but they would eventually...they would.
