I’ve seen a ton of posts regarding our Hogwarts Mystery MC’s future--a challenge started by @carewyncromwell which a lot of blogs I followed have been taking on. So I’m going to do my take on it as well. (I do have an illustration planned, but I’ll probably post it separately as I haven’t started drawing yet and I don’t want the trend to completely die off before I come by with my contribution.)
But here’s the full rundown (may subject to change)! More under the cut...
Year 7 and the end of the Hogwarts journey was a really overwhelming one for Clara. After everything that’s happened to her, she needed nothing more than a serious break away from everything--to find peace and make amends with everything that happened in her history. She eventually moved out of her house and got a quiet place with Barnaby--a little cottage in the country that’s still close to civilian life--and worked to overcome her traumatic and stressful experiences. Barnaby was there for her every step of the way.
During this time, she was accepted into the Auror office with Tonks and Talbott, and the three of them worked alongside many accomplished wizards to ensure justice in the wizarding world. In her spare time away from the Ministry, she an Barnaby opened up a magical creatures care centre--they set some space to establish that--they took care of a variety of creatures that came around, like Bowtruckles, Nifflers, Billywigs, you name it. Whenever Clara was away for extended periods of time, Liz was there to help Barnaby run it.
Clara’s family often visited them, especially during the summer as little Em was finished with schooling by then. It was there that Barnaby and Clara’s mother’s correspondence was eventually revealed to the rest of the family, and soon Clara’s father started to take Barnaby in as a potential son-in-law. He taught Barnaby how to properly raise a garden, which Barnaby accepted gratefully.
Of course, Clara never stopped her musical endeavours following her Hogwarts days. She continued playing the piano at home, even began to sing again after her best friend’s death rendered her silent. She was also continuously supportive of the Weird Sisters, with whom she kept occasional correspondence.
Three years after their graduation, Barnaby proposed to Clara in a dazzling spectacle among their friends, which Clara happily accepted. However, before they could move on with the actual wedding itself a year after that, Voldemort returned, and this brought a stir in many dark activities going on around the world.
In July 1995, Clara’s father got a notice from one of his old friends to return to China for a fight to hold back the Japanese dark wizards infiltrating the Muggles all around the country. Clara, however, went in his stead with his knowledge, and she was enlisted as one of the members of the Chinese Wizarding Task Force, a wizarding army with its base situated in Beijing. She worked very closely with other witches and wizards of Chinese descent from wizarding schools around the world to take down the Japanese foes, training in several areas that initially weren’t covered in her Auror training (e.g. physical combat, battle strategy, etc.) She remained in the army for almost three years, only returning to the UK once to attend Dumbledore’s funeral. There, she also blessed her old friends Bill and Tonks on their respective impending nuptials, and she gave them each a little gift from China before departing again.
Clara returned to the UK for good on May 1, 1998, on the eve before the Battle of Hogwarts. She fought in the battle and survived, only seeing her friends for the first time after the fighting had ceased. Devastation crept in her heart at the sights of some of her friends slain by Death Eaters, and just like before, it took her a long time to recover. Barnaby and her remaining friends were there for her every step of the way.
On September 1, 1998, Clara and Baranby held their pre-nuptial party at their place, inviting their friends over for a night to commemorate the fallen on a day that usually signified going back to school with friends they cared so much for. With glowing lanterns raised in the sky, Clara and her friends all eventually found peace. Two days after that, Clara ad Barnaby were finally wed, and after that they had three children--two twin boys, Melvin and Milo (Summer 1999), and a little girl Sylvia (Winter 2001).
Clara returned to the Ministry following Sylvia’s birth, and she worked in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, retiring her position as Auror. However, she still volunteered to help with training sessions whenever she could, imparting her knowledge and expertise to new incoming Aurors.
I have a lot to catch up on in regards to responding to stuff (yikes) and I haven’t had the enthusiasm to do much else than this lil doodle of Akira who absolutely rocks a red suit btw 🔥
