hi! How do you make the family crests for your families? ALSO, THE NAME 'CAIRNCROSS' SOUNDS SO PRETTY WTH?

Hello and thank you for the ask!!

Omg okay so I love the name Cairncross too and tbh it was taken from the character John Cairncross who appears in the film ‘The Imitation Game’ which I was obsessed with when it came out thanks to my Sherlock phase agsgdhsjs. He’s a real guy too (a Soviet spy but we don’t talk about that lmao) but I loved the name so saved it in my masterlist of potential character names that I’ve had for a few years and when I was looking for a surname for Eli it stood out to me. It had the kind of prestigious vibe that I wanted to relate to Eli’s family history and idk it just felt related to nature which is important to Eli’s character (I think maybe it’s the Cairn part- so like the stone monuments that are significant as a marker or burial mound, and also because of the Cairngorms in Scotland).

As for the crests, I literally just took some images I found on Google that I wanted to use and did my best to make a crest I thought was fitting in Superimpose lol. Obviously the images and colours weren’t chosen at random as they represent certain things in regard to the families and their histories. (X)

— Thora begged her parents for a typewriter so she could use it to write her stories with and eventually they bought her a teal coloured one for her 12th birthday. She used it on almost every story she wrote and almost every letter she sent to family and friends when not at Hogwarts and it’s one of her most treasured possessions.

— Thora loves embroidery and on most of her clothes and other items made from suitable materials she has embroidered flowers, leaves, animals, constellations, planets, and words of encouragement. She loves putting her own personal touch of things and will often do the same on other people’s clothes, handkerchiefs, bags, etc. with symbols and words that remind Thora of them.
