Crawlspace work is always a little scary. Will there be rats, raccoons, snakes, or skunks hiding in there? This one from the 1700’s seemed really bad at first and had an opening big enough for any of those creatures to enter. A few hours of hard work later it started feeling a little more habitable. I sealed the big hole first thing after making sure no creatures were lurking. Just got this Turbomax E23 instantaneous indirect water heater installed. It wasn’t exactly how I wanted to plumb it. Sometimes you have to balance the project budget, what is currently not correctly installed, and final performance. While not pretty looking it is functioning perfectly. I prefer function over appearance anyway. Before and after entire foundation crawlspace encapsulation work. This should eliminate the mold and mushrooms growing throughout the house! Plus fix the frigid floors in winter. The job included full removal of existing mouse and spider infested fiberglass, sealing of vents (vermin access points), full vapor barrier install, closed cell foam board with a metallic facer on the foundation wall. A termite inspection gap was left and we also sealed all edges of the foamboard with aluminum tape such that there are no non-metalic access points for any termites or carpenter ants.
