Title: Maybe It’s You Author: @likehandlingroses Pairing: Luna/Ginny Rating: Mature Warnings/Content Notes: Sex (everyone is of age!), Homophobia, see AO3 tags for additional pairings and characters Summary: Ginny and Luna haven’t spoken much since Ginny abruptly left Harry and separated herself from most of her old life. Luna is busy working in Diagon Alley, eager to earn enough money to move out of her father’s house and see the world. Ginny--fresh off a suspension from the Holyhead Harpies--has returned home and is dissatisfied with having to take two steps back in her life. She asks Percy if she can stay in the spare room in his and Oliver’s flat. From school?” Harry sounded a little strangled. “Parkinson?” Ginny lifted her chin. “Yes. I’m bringing Pansy Parkinson as my plus-one to your wedding.” When she told her friends she was bringing a date to Harry and Luna’s wedding, Ginny had only wanted them to stop bothering her about her love life. Hype Reader Sign-ups Opening Soon!
Posting for the HP WLW BB will begin in just a few short weeks, and we are SO excited to share what our wonderful artists and authors have been working on! In preparation for posting to begin on 21 June, we are now putting out the call for Hype Readers.
Our motive for creating this role was two-fold. Firstly, we know that some people want to support the fest but weren’t able to participate as a writer or an artist; being a hype reader is a way for you to show support for our creators and the endeavour of a HP WLW Big Bang. Secondly, we know that wlw ships tend to get less attention than other ships in this fandom, and we want to make sure that our wonderful creators get a good response to the work they’ve spent so much time on!
What are the requirements to be a Hype Reader?
You pledge to read and leave a substantial comment on at least two stories from the fest, between Friday 21 June and Sunday 7 July. By “substantial” comment, we don’t mean that we expect you to annotate every line or write paragraphs and paragraphs -- we just want you to write a few sentences directed to both the writer and the artist, something longer than “This was sweet!” or “I love it!” (although those comments too are also superb and eternally cherished!). The time frame is meant to allow you about a week after posting ends to finish reading and commenting on your chosen stories. We would, of course, love if you commented on as many fics as possible, but given the restrictions of free time and what genres/pairings folks might be interested in reading, we require only two for Hype Readers.
What do I get for being a Hype Reader?
The satisfaction of knowing you’ve made authors and artists very happy, and a few more tangible things! You will receive a preview list of the fics, including summaries and pairings, before posting begins, so you can plan which stories you’d like to read. You’ll also get a Guide to Commenting For The Shy But Squeeful Hype Reader written by @frnklymrshnkly. You’ll get access to a special Hype Reader channel in the HP WLW BB Discord. There might even be a surprise once you’ve completed your Hype Reader pledge…
How do I sign up?
We will be posting a Google Form later this week, where you can fill out your pledge and give us your name and email (so we can send you the aforementioned preview list and commenting guide).

We are excited to announce the 2019 HP WLW Big Bang!
The purpose of the HP WLW Big Bang is to encourage longer fic and accompanying artwork for wlw pairings featuring our favorite Harry Potter characters. We hope to encourage wlw stories with rich character development and plots. Nonbinary and trans interpretations of characters are welcome, as are poly ships and ace characters, but all stories should have a romantic/partnership component. The primary relationship should be between two or more characters who are canonically not men.
For writers, the minimum word count for fic will be 25,000 words. Writers will sign up during the month of February and have three months to write their stories; the deadline for submitting fic will be 31 May. There will be three writer check-ins during the writing period: a 25% check-in on 30 March, a 50% check-in on 21 April, and an 80% check-in on 15 May.
For artists, the minimum art requirement will be 2 pieces more developed than a sketch. Artists will sign up between 21 April - 7 May, and will have one month to complete their artwork. The deadline for submitting artwork will be 7 June.
We will also have Hype Readers! We know that some of you will want to support the fest, but may not be able to participate as a writer or artist. We also know that wlw ships tend to get less attention than other ships. In an effort to provide a way for people to participate without writing or making art, and to make sure that our lovely creators get a good response, we are creating the position of hype readers – if you are interested in being a hype reader, you can sign up at the beginning of June, and pledge to read and comment on at least two stories from the fest.
