HP WLW Big Bang is Back!

We are very excited to announce that HP WLW Big Bang is back for its 2026 edition! After a 3-year break, we are finally bringing this fest back for everyone to enjoy.

The purpose of the HP WLW Big Bang is to encourage longer fic and accompanying artwork for wlw pairings featuring our favorite Harry Potter characters! Through this fest, we hope to encourage wlw stories with rich character development and plots. Nonbinary and trans interpretations of characters are welcome, as are poly ships and ace characters, but all stories should have a romantic/partnership component. The primary relationship should be between two or more characters who are canonically not men.

The HP Saffics discord server have picked up the fest - you don't have to be a member of the server to participate, but the fest and server have the same mod team.

This was a spur of the moment "what your fic doesn't have art?" creation, and I'm so happy I got the chance to create art for this beautiful fic (and to get to read it almost before everybody else ;D). Rules

Fic: minimum word count 20k, no maximum word count

Art: one piece of art and one banner (banner can be a cropped portion of art)

Writers and artists must be 18+ to participate

The use of generative AI is prohibited for all submissions

All works must include a main WLW pairing of HP characters

Summary: After an extremely ill-timed lovers'-tiff-turned-food-fight at the Ministry leaves her less one boyfriend and suspended without pay for six months, Hermione pleads for some position–anything–to fill her days until her suspension is up. The good news is, her temporary position in the Magical Games & Sports's Ludicrous Patents office is just down the corridor from Harry's office in General Inquiries. The bad news is Harry's officemate is Pansy Parkinson, the Ministry's operations are shockingly outdated, and every altercation between Hermione and Pansy winds up a headline in MoM's internal rogue gossip zine, Hot Goss. Pansy, who's already chagrined about having been glass-ceilinged in the same position for six years, is no happier with this turn of events. Unbeknownst to each other, Pansy and Hermione each take to The Daily Prophet's Opinions column to air their grievances. When their Op-Eds morph into (increasingly flirty) private correspondence, Hermione and Pansy seem to be the only people they know who haven't figured out one anothers' true identities. Is it a recipe for disaster—or romance??
