"Backlash is not a conspiracy, it is a habit." - Susan Faludi
Just reading Faludi's Backlash. The book is thirty years old and still uncomfortably about life as a woman right now IMO. She makes a strong case: there isn't a bunch of dudes, "the man", in smoky rooms plotting 4D chess moves in some silent war on suffrage. Instead, there's a deep-seated reflex at the heat of culture to kill our progress, in the name of protecting institutions instead of people. Kinda heady stuff. But seeing all the retaliation I've experienced in that way, a lot of things about being a woman in the workplace make a lot more sense. If you're worried about backlash, this piece on whether you should report at work is pretty great, too.

Tegnap ellopták a kerékpárom. Kellemetlen.
