Idk how to word this but sometimes I feel like Shane is such a polarizing character is because he’s not written like a Love Interest.
Usually in romance novels, the love interest has flaws of circumstance. Shane’s flaws are more about the choices he makes. Which makes for a great character but not always a good romantic partner.
Like sometimes I think he’d be better suited for some psychosexual hockey horror book. But he’s not. He’s in a Romance. And he doesn’t always fit that narrative.
