The first book was extremely white woman mediocre. The second book was quite readable and more real-feeling.

The book is so stupid smh. They don't even say anything about Ilya's father or brother once his dad passes away. Ntg else said. Bruh. His dad is losing himself and his brain and his mom killed herself and his brother sucks ass. And he's gta worry about whether it's hereditary too. That's an insane thing to be in the middle of. And yet. Nothing.
Sry but I really don't like Hayden....
I like that the show made Svetlana more of a person. Ilya and her seem actually somewhat close and fond than in the book where she was just there for one scene.
ok so I finished book 1 finally.
cannot get over how there is truly not ONE single asian thing shane does tbh. (and even ilya's russian-ness ceases to matter after a few plot things). but shane is truly done dirty fr.
Pfffttt
Ok I'll say this much. I am going to explode into a million pieces when the show gets to the part where ilya calls Shane's freckles stunning and calls him beautiful and all that.
