"Unrivaled" a new Game Changers book by Rachel Reid about Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander is supposed to come out September 29th 2026 (via Barnes and Nobles)
Rachel Reid officially announces her new Game Changers book titled "Unrivaled" which follows on from "The Long Game" and is set to debut Fall 2026 (via people)
Rachel Reid about her new book "Unrivaled":
"It starts right where The Long Game left off. It's gonna follow their first season playing together. It is not going past that point. They've never really been a couple in a normal way ever. So suddenly they've gone from grabbing time secretly whenever they could to being married and living together and being teammates. That's a huge whiplash in their relationship. I’m not doing anything awful to them, I don’t want people to worry about that. It is largely nice. I had no interest in writing them again if I had to drag them both through hell. It’s really a good vs evil story."

Rachel Reid about Unrivaled:
Rolling Stones:
“At the end of [the second book in the series, The Long Game], they’re married, and they’re teammates, and everybody knows about their relationship. I could have left it there, but over the years, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. They’ve never really had a normal relationship where they haven’t been hiding, or where they’ve been together this much. So there’s a lot to explore.”
“It’s happy, it’s romantic, it’s sweet, it’s sexy. It’s all the things that the other books had going for them. And you get to see a lot of nice domestic stuff with Shane and Ilya. This is supposed to be their happily ever after.”
Rachel Reid x Spotify event:
“I've said it before, it's going to pick up basically where The Long Game left off, so you didn't miss anything. It’s set in 2021, so that's something I have to keep remembering. But yeah, it's their first season playing together on the same team. They're married. Everybody knows about their relationship. There's so many things that are brand new for them. So where The Long Game, it seemed like a big happy ending for them. But as I kept thinking about it, in the years since it came out, it's really the start of a whole new, kind of weird era of their life that is totally brand new for them. And it isn't going to be totally smooth. So yeah, we're going to see them together a lot instead of grabbing time here and there. There's going to be some bad luck--not everybody loves that two hockey players are married together on the same team. But some people really love it. And I think we're going to see a lot of support for them, but also a lot of the other stuff. Yeah, I don't know, I think it's going to be fun. I'm not going to drag Shane and Ilya through hell, you know, that's not the point of the book. They've been through enough."
