"We have to stop meeting like this."
The words were spoken over the din of the bar, the heavy smoke filling the air. This wasn't one of her usual haunts. Normally, she'd stay by the club. Tartarus, despite what people would have assumed, was cleaner. That wasn't to say it was without smoke. It lingered in the dark edges of the rooms and sent heavy shadows throughout the space. The dive bar that they were currently in was one of the few human establishments that hadn't been overrun. The firefighters tended to spend time there after shifts, and Meg knew a few vamps who went there to lure unsuspecting humans into becoming meals.
On a normal night, she would have told her would be pursuer off. He hung around Tartarus from time to time and was harmless. It looked far better that Harrison was the one to do so, however, and Meg bit back a groan at the painfully charming action. Smile, baby. Lay it on thick. Isn't that what Nico would tell her? It was Nico's fault she was there at all. She took advantage of people all the time. Taking advantage of someone who was genuinely good? It left a bad taste in her mouth.
Tossing back the rest of her drink, Meg flashed a smile. "But now that we're together, you wanna get out of here? Not my crowd."
