Admittedly, Seungbin was far from praised for his physical stamina. He could, in fact, barely survive sprinting after his dog a few blocks. He would plead in his defense that it was incredibly hot outside, all underneath panting breaths.
“STEVIE!” There was little use in not calling attention to himself running down a busy street, shouting a name. It had been the loudest he managed to strain his voice. He felt the side effects already with each frantic pass of air through his esophagus. Scratchy, mildly sore. Even more so, he could feel it in his knees and the soles of his feet. Padded sandals meant to be worn inside the home were far from suitable substitutes for athletic shoes. However, it had been the quickest, most convenient option as his dog slipped out the partially open door. It appeared as though Stevie developed a rebellious streak after her bathroom break ㅡ as if the world transformed and she was finally free to move without restraint.
With he leash still trailing behind her, Stevie weaved through migrating legs, her nose raised in the air with purpose. Her goal was uncertain to Seungbin, but long ago decided by the excitable dog, himself.
Soon enough, she broke into a sprint, tiny legs tapping against the concrete sidewalk until his owner lost sight of him. Her final destination was a bustling cafe with outdoor seating. Even though it was hot ( at least to him ), many of the cafe’s patrons elected to dine outside underneath the privacy of a colorfully decorated awning. Without further ado, Stevie jumped onto an empty chair, then onto an unsupervised table with half of a sandwich still left untouched. Even when the boy came over to reclaim his seat, she didn’t cease in devouring a majority of his lunch.
“Ah, hell… When did you get so fast…” Bin reached the corner of the street beside the table, panting heavily. Fortunately, the dog was in his line of sight. Unfortunately, his legs couldn’t push themselves any longer. “Hey! I’m so sorry, that’s my dog… She got loose.”
