Heiran giggles, stretching her lips in a toothy grin seeing her friend sulking slightly. Around Hyemin, she found it easy to relax and just enjoy things she was doing. “If you were a ninja, cuteness would be your weapon.” She hums and props up her chin in her hands, thinking for an answer. “I guess it kinda worked, I couldn’t really sense you until you were a few feet away from the table.”

Heiran looks curiously at the screen of Karin’s phone, as the other female pulls up a video that she wanted her to watch. Once the video finishes buffering and starts playing, her entire focus is on the video. It was showing a series of clips showing different animals reacting to being startled. She smiles seeing the silly reactions, eventually laughing at how scared a cat was to see a cucumber. “How in the world? These pets are so adorable!”

❝ right? i always end up thinking about how much we don’t deserve them because they’re too pure for us, ❞ karin reaches for her phone again, quickly swapping it over to another video, so they could continue their small animal video watching. ❝ they don’t bother hiding their emotions, and they put up with us especially when we’re out here doing something stupid. ❞

“They really are...makes me think of adopting a puppy or kitten and taking it home.” she never was vocal about her love for animals, especially baby animals, growing up. it was taught that it could be used as a weakness against her. heiran cooes at one of the clips in the video, finding it adorable how the puppy growls at it’s reflection in the mirror. “i guess you’re right about that, and some of them will let you know that they don’t approve of what you’re doing, like those shiba inus.”

        What she starts talking about is a lot of information to absorb, sure, and although Duckie was usually presumed to be a bit on the slower side, truthfully he was a bit like a sponge when it came to knowledge. As a youngster, Duckie dabbled in a little bit of everything to keep his hands busy, and it was something that he liked to try to keep up.

When the younger talks about not having to write things in order, Duckie counts himself pretty pleased, because sometimes it was difficult for him to focus on a task that had a very set progression, He liked to mix it up. “Oh, for real? I like that–does that work with lyrics though? I feel like that’d get a little bit mixed up. Or is it just the instrumentals specifically?”

She nods hearing the interest in Duckie’s voice when she mentions how composing a piece can be done however way the producer wanted to. “For real. It works for lyrics writing, I’m just lucky that I can keep those two parts in their own compartments. Some of the people I’ve met underground find it easier to focus on one of the elements first.” Heiran laughs softly, reminiscing of when she was still fresh on the scene.

“Guess you could say I’m a multi tasker when it comes to songwriting. It’s not conventional, but I work best that way.” She taps her nails on the edge of her seat, finding satisfaction in hearing the muffled clicks. “sometimes an idea will hit when you least expect, and then there’s the urge to write it down.”

Wow, he really has a good question sense, he’d be someone that could get far writing music. The thought runs through her mind after he asks which method she likes better. “You guessed right, most of the time I brainstorm after getting the words down and work around that. Using the music as a base, that’s how you would do freestyle rap during underground competition.” Heiran grins, looking impish. “those are the only times I’d rather rely on the music.”

❝ –  that makes a lot of sense right now, i guess it just depends doesn’t it? sometimes it’s one way and sometimes it’s another but everyone has their preferences, ❞ he says with a tilt of his head to the side in thought. an idea suddenly strikes him between all this conversation, and he looks over at her with much eager eyes. ❝  –   if i played something right now would you be able to freestyle rap on the spot? i just kind of want to see.❞

Once she saw the flash of something in Junjae’s eyes, the rapper knew that he was going to ask for an example of how she worked through with improvisation. It’d been some time since she last had to immediately create something out of nothing. “sure~ challenge accepted, it’s been a while since i’ve done some spontaneous rap making.” Heiran enjoyed that high from the adrenaline rush when pressure to create something out of nothing.

“Was that supposed to be sarcastic? I always got something up my sleeve, in case a situation breaks out.” Heiran turned around to face Karin, a slightly mischievous grin on her lips. She wasn’t lying in her statement, since she had to learn how to navigate the underworld and assimilate with the people who take part in the surreptitious activities. “We’ll be fine, trust me.”

At Junjae’s suggestion, it’s like a light bulb flickered on above her head. She was so focused on editing some recordings that she made recently that she only got up a few times to stretch. “That’s not a bad idea....my brain is hurting from all of this.” She gets up from the bench and quickly stores her laptop in her backpack, shouldering the load. “Where to?”
