I really need to go to frickin sleep by pain and insomnia are hitting me hard and I am having some thoughts

It's... strangely therapeutic when you realize a bizarrely strong attachment to characters is you recognizing aspects of yourself in their personality and struggles. And then you realize you like that character. And others do despite those flaws too. And maybe you having those flaws isn't the end of the world. And for me, acknowledging that has helped me think about and talk about Stuff.

Why do I love berserk and specifically Griffith so much despite him being the literal antichrist? I relate to his struggles with internalized homophobia and forced heteronormativity. Hell, berserk made me finally like, accept that it's okay that I spent so long trying to ignore the gay and force myself to be straight.

I relate to hollow because at times I feel like just an empty broken shell (and the parental neglect and abuse but w/e) and im basically piecing myself back together again after being on deatha door.

My body is falling apart quicker than doctors can put it back together and dealing with that is hard. Watching my friends graduate this year when I'm learning how to draw and walk and barely function is hard. Dealing with memory loss and brain fog and a brain injury is hard. Loosing my ability to walk is hard. Learning how to be a person again is hard.

But I'm trying damnit!!! I stumble and fall and move backwards and sideways instead of forwards but I'm trying. I'm trying to be kinder to myself and to stop comparing myself to others. Recovery isn't the glamorous bullshit you see in the media. Recovery is a person word vomiting at 1am and creating art to help them deal with their shit hecause lord knows no one else will.
