1. What was your first fic and could you stand to reread it today?

My first fic is still on ff.net, called Unsuspicious title (which has absolutely nothing to do with the plot, I just thought it was funny) and it’s Sasuke/Naruto ofc, but honestly, I love that fic. It’s the fic that got me into writing in the first place, and it’s such an excited fic? Like, I was very excited when I wrote it. So when I read it again I remember those feelings of being really hyped about writing and convinced I was amazing at it, but it’s also just a very cute and just feel good high school au type of fic with lots of silly jokes (even smut wow!). It was easier to write back then when every word felt like perfection haha. There are other fics I like less tbh so yeah good memories! 

34. Was there any fic that you wrote that really surprised you in the fandom reaction? Was it just by the numbers or did they take it an entirely different way?

Hmm there’s nothing major I can think of, but one example is when I was writing Results of a shitty day (yeah, back at it again with those totally-but-not-really-funny titles lol) and wrote Sasuke and Naruto switching between top/bottom in the smut scenes. There were a lot of strong opinions on who should really be the top and bottom between the two of them, and I wasn’t really much part of fandom in the tumblr etc. sense back then so while I knew some people had preferences, it was kind of a surprise how upset some people would get. Tbh it still surprises me when people so surely point out a top or bottom character when it’s done seriously and with an inability to consider the opposite happening. Being a “top” or “bottom” is not a personality trait lol. Oh and when I wrote plus drew my silly doujin/fic thingy, I was surprised that some people actually liked it hahaha!

47. If someone you know in real life who isn’t involved in fandoms asked to read your work, would you let them? If yes, what would you recommend they read first?

Well, it really depends on who asks haha! I have shown my fics to a few people outside fandom, for example I sent my mom a few fics on her request but I have a feeling she never read them lol (she reads a lot of gay books/yaoi tho so idk, maybe I should ask her if she wants to read one....or maybe not) but like, grandma asks a lot about my writing but there’s no way I could show her any of it bc 1. she wouldn’t understand most of it I’m sure and 2. I’m her precious firstborn grandchild I can’t let her know my dark secres lol. I think it’s hard to let non-fandom people read a fic because it’s such a specific genre that kind of needs you to know the characters beforehand or at least know what fic is like already. Maybe Missing pieces is the fic that feels the least fandom-ish? Or Lessons in Love because it’s impossible not to love yoi so I’m sure they would like reading it hahaha

  50. Has writing fanfic had a significant impact on your life? Would you say it’s entirely positive?

Writing fic has changed my life in a million ways!! It gives me an outlet for my creativity that I’d forgotten about (I used to write lots when I was a kid but then forgot about it) and I made so many friends through my writing (as well as my longest lasting relationship) so it’s really hard to imagine what my life would have been like if I didn’t start writing fics. I think my life is a lot better by writing fic, to put it short. Writing is also about figuring people (characters) out and putting yourself in someone else’s situation, I think that does a lot for me as a person. The only negative thing is the suffering of writer’s block and the frustration when I can’t update as much as I like haha.

17: earliest obsession you remember?

Faeries! I used to make huts with random pieces of wood and moss at the bottom of the garden and wish really hard that I was able to see them haha really loved those fairy children's books, the ones where it's just illustrations of fairies wearing different fruits and flowers for clothes? (Psst take me with you, I'd love to live in a goddamn raspberry bush) What an aesthetic~

44: do you collect anything?

Hmmm, not like... enough to consider myself a collector-collector but I have loads of enamel pins, mugs in unconventional shapes, silk scarves and hand-bound leather notebooks!

Do you like your age?i feel okay about it. i turned 20 about a month ago and its really scary for me not to be a teenager anymore, but im also excited to hopefully grow and mature and move on to another phase of my life92.
