the wayward eldest daughter of the emperor and empress of south korea showed up at the royal wedding of princess layla and prince aslan in a badgley mischka piece that’s just fresh off the runway in new york. despite having left the royal spotlight and preferring to focus on her education and subsequently short modelling career, the last official public appearance the princess had made was at her own wedding, three years ago, to the duke of gyeonggi. in a rare show of support towards the crown, princess dianna was seen arm-in-arm with her youngest sister, princess sabrina, entering çırağan palace around an hour after the reception formally started.

“Rowen!” Cecilia shouted over the sea of people once she spotted her best friend. The shouting was unnecessary, but the princess was, unfortunately for Rowen and the rest of her royal family, a “tad bit” drunk off of champagne and wine. She couldn’t resist tasting the luxurious drinks in comparison to the cheap bottles and boxes that she bought back home. A wide, red-painted grin was on her face as she hurried over to her friend, planting her hands on his shoulders to balance herself and make sure that he could understand the excitement and alcohol that was radiating through her. “I know what you’re going to ask and all I will say is that I can’t help the fact that we had the cheap shit back home and now we’re being treated with luxurious shit. Did that even make sense? Nevermind.” Cecilia shook her head, dismissing the thought. “Months ago, did you think we’d be here? At a royal wedding? A whole ass royal wedding where everyone in this room is a royal? And even better we’re royals? Did you think when we were drinking on your birthday, we would be in the presence of ROYALS?”

margot had resisted the urge to approach christoph for most of the night. seeking him out wouldn’t have been the responsible thing to do, given that they’d both come with new fiancés and the environment they were in was crawling with people who were aware of their history together. still, she found herself looking his way throughout the evening, spotting him easily as he towered above most of the other guests. late into the reception, when the peak of the festivities had come and gone and everyone had more or less settled, she made his way over to him. coming from behind, she touched his arm gently to get his attention and smiled warmly when he turned. no matter what the circumstances were, she would always be glad to see him. “hello, stranger,” she said, squeezing his elbow gently before letting her hand fall. on more private occasions she would’ve greeted him with a hug, but in this situation she was mindful of anyone who might look their way. “i didn’t know you were coming.” [ @ofaustria ]
SPOTTED ! NEWLYWEDS IN PARIS.
Just as their ceremony was private, the royals kept quiet about the honeymoon. We didn’t know when they’d be leaving Turkey, where they were going, or for how long, but now we can answer at least two of those questions.
The pair was seen strolling down the streets of Paris hand in hand, smiles never leaving their faces. Fashion hasn’t taken a break either, although the princess has graced us yet again with affordability. Today, she’s wearing a white, oversized shirt dress from House of CB — did we or did we not call Layla wearing white as often as possible? Her hair is tied back in two Dutch braids with the same myrtle accents we saw when she and Aslan were out in İstanbul. To top it all off, she’s paired the ensemble with platinum Saint Laurent Opyums, a well-known favorite of the princess.
While we won’t be tailing the couple every second to respect their privacy and stay on Layla’s good side, we can’t help but wonder why Paris? Surely the city is a romantic getaway, but we expected Aslan and Layla to be far from home. Is this choice a political statement? The Egyptian princess has many European ties, but we don’t believe France is one of them. From what we know of her, we can’t see her supporting the French king’s actions — though this could’ve been Aslan’s choice, the border battles inland reminiscent of the struggle between Turkey and Greece.
