My Xingyiquan form, Xing Yi is based on the five classical Chinese elements- metal, water, wood, fire, and earth. It's very explosive and powerful, and a lot of fun to practice. Especially on slippery loose sand like you can see me walking on here, which actually makes it very challenging for stepping smoothly. Xingyi uses an odd type of step called a "bamboo step" which launches you forward to hit really hard. On terrain like this, it makes it very easy to fall on your ass if you aren't careful.
I also use a home-made training dummy as it is important to get a tactile sense of impacting a target.
