A funny take is Phainon purposefully giving Irontomb misinformation each time It needs information from him just fuck with it.
Also the bit with Phainon being like "I told you so..." must have been SO validating for him. Phainon mentally fist pumping the air knowing he won in life with a partner who loves him so much to notice the difference between Irontomb and Phainon.
Sorry if you cant tell I Lovvee the intimacy in knowing somebody and the trope of a person being replaced near perfectly but a loved one interacting wifh them and being like "....no... somethings... wrong here...."

It was going to be something like either your birthday or your anniversary depending on the timing of it and he would've told it they happen like, weeks before their real dates. And, obviously, it wants to maximize your enjoyment and make it perfect so when it starts celebrating and spoiling you extra you're like
"Yk I love you but what's all this?"
"....." "for your.... isn't today...???"
"Huh? Not until like, another month. How'd you forget?" "I guess this is better than you forgetting later on, but now I'm wondering if we should get you checked out, you've been all over the place"
It gets really embarrassed and locks itself away for the remainder of the day (*_*;
I feel like he would give misinfo very sparingly because it doesn't want to be the cause of something you get mad at him for, even if he's not the one saying or doing anything, so here's some Phainon approved™ ways on making IT'S life harder than it needs to be:
- insists it does literally EVERYTHING for you, wake you up, make the bed, make breakfast, spoonfeed you, won't let you get up to do anything, just catering to your every whim. Says it needs to know before you even ask what you want, "is this necessary?" "If you're going to steal my name and face you have to act like me ok"
- There are many a time when it'll be walking by itself and he tells it to go the other way, makes it get lost somewhere and now it's late for wherever yall were planning to meet up ("I thought you knew the way around here, silly guy" ".... I do")
- Saw you with a chimera once saying "omg you're so cute im going to eat you," Thinks you mean it literally, asks to make sure you mean it and gets a resounding "oh yes absolutely" from him, takes the poor animal home and fights with it on the stove and you're like WHAT NO
Literally ANYTHING that can trigger secondhand embarrassment he'll use, it becomes his main coping mechanism seeing this thing bumble around you
IM THE SAME, I love kingdom hearts and being swapped for fake versions of yourself happens like, every other Tuesday lol so I like thinking about these
