so pretty much i liked it and im able to forgive some things like as i became re-accustomed to the friendsim gimmick i actually forgive dave starting to realize he has a gay crush on john within seconds of meeting the reader because thats like the whole thing that they make someone have some sort of expedited self reflection just through the power of enthusiastic friend-making. honestly i thought everyone was written pretty well except vriska was fumbled so badly it was insane, which we've covered. everyone else was cute. diiiirkk.... dirkk .............

congrats to her on being trans but i don’t think the way it was integrated into her personal issues really worked that well i think she has to transition with confidence and without an overkill of internal strife about it especially considering literally no one other than her lusus cares. in an attempt to make her transness thematically relevant, her flarping was framed as escapism which it never has been. vriska’s problem has always been overcommitting to the things she hates most in an effort to force herself to be okay with them. being trans doesn’t always have to be like thematically relevant and crucial to the character arc at hand… especially if the character in question is 13
