How to get better pt 1
Start a journal. Note - fill it with positive things only - if you need to rant about your bad feelings, use another journal. Make lists. Of what? Things that make you happy or help you enjoy life. Things that make you feel better when you are feeling down, things to live for. This can be ANYTHING; from cute animals, to your friend, to the way the sun shines through the window giving you a sense to of hope, to drinking nice juice! Write down anything you can think of, and add to the list every day/ week. You can also add positive quotes etc, so that you can look at this book everytime you feel like giving up and remind yourself how amazing it really is to live.
Make a Playlist - music helps. Make a playlist of inspirational and calming songs that instantly lift your mood. Some of the best music to listen to calm down (for me personally) is jazz instrumentals. I find instrumentals are very useful to listen to when calming down. (Probably due to the fact they are different to the type of music I usually listen to and don’t have lyrics that I have to focus on. Take the time to find music that you like - exploring new styles of music is always interesting. Finding new music is also better when creating this playlist as songs that you listen to can often hold bad memories - even if they are good songs.
Get outside more - even if it’s for 5 minutes. Going outside seems like so much effort, but even going outside for 5 minutes helps dramatically. If you are able to, going for a relaxing walk is so calming and gives you time to open your eyes and appreciate how beautiful nature is. It’s also good for you.
