Confidence and Insecurities
Being insecure and lack of confidence is something we all go through and it often stops us from living life to the fullest, so here are some tips on how to beat your insecurities and gain confidence.
Remember- not being insecure doesnāt just happen over night. Itās a gradual process that takes time.
Realize everyone has flaws. Itās probably one of those things that youāre tired of hearing but itās true Ā
Learn to embrace your flaws
Spend time naked - donāt rush to put on clothes after a shower (unless youāre late) or when itās hot out and youāre in your house, donāt be afraid to strip down to your undies
Show your body some extra love in the showerā¦caress it like the ladies in the soap commercials if you have to
take time to correct negative thoughts about yourself mentally and physically. For example: the classicĀ āIām not short, Iām fun sizedā or donāt like the way your hair look? Style it differently.Ā
Take care of yourself and show your body love daily
Positive affirmations are key - tell yourself youāre beautiful daily and say it like you mean it
Building Confidence
Workout. Youāll feel better by knowing youāre making the effortĀ
Try clothes you didnāt think you would like. Youād be surprised by what you look great in
If youāre someone who likes to wear makeup, practice until you achieve the look you want
Wear clothes that make you feel sexy regardless of what other people think about itĀ

IF SOMEONE IS HAVING A PANIC ATTACK
Under no circumstances should you ever
a) Tell them they're overreacting
b) Yell at them
c) Tell them that their trigger wasn't a big deal
d) Lecture them
e) Tell them to stop being dramatic
Panic attacks are not something that can be controlled. They are not fun and not something one enjoys. It's not their fault.
!If you want to help, here are some tips:
1) Get on their level. If they are sitting, sit with them.
2) Try to avoid getting to close, it can be overwhelming.
3) Speak softly and quietly.
4) Find something for them to focus on; a soft blanket, a string they can tie, something to count, an ice cube to hold, etc.
Intrusive Thoughts Witch Tip
So, if youāre like me, maybe you have trouble sleeping at night because right when you lay down your mind just starts rolling with conversations that arenāt important. I know that this is quite normal, but on my worse nights this becomes intrusive thoughts - those that are unpleasant, harmful or frightening. I have a specific phobia, and when I canāt sleep my mind directs all of its attention to this, which causes anxiety attacks and insomnia.
To help deal with this Iāve used a pretty simple visualization routine.
⨠Pick your fav fictional character
āØImagine them in your mindās eye fighting off/yelling at/etc. your intrusive thoughts
āØChoose or create a specific āpowerfulā attack to seal the thoughts away and imagine your character using it
āØWhen you start to feel thoughts creeping back in remind yourself they are gone and visualize your character fending them off.
For example, my personal choice is Arturia Pendragon from the Fate series. Her signature move is to raise Excalibur to the heavens and rain down a white light of power that banishes all evil. When I start to feel my mind wandering I repeat to myself āit is goneā and keep the image of Arturia in my mind a little longer until I fall asleep.
You can think of this as a very minor summoning of a guardian as well, and I find that after a few times of doing this your thought form can act on its own as it knows the routine.

Force yourself to go to class/work/the park/sports practice/whatever you have going on. Sometimes itās easier to dwell in our loneliness, but it doesnāt feel better.Ā
Take yourself on a date. No arguments about which restaurant this time!
Try to journal and identify why youāre lonely - it might help lessen the feeling if you can figure out when itās coming from.Ā
Meet new people by attending meet-ups (see meetups.com for meetups in a city near you!)Ā
Volunteer somewhere. Taking care of others is self-care too!Ā
Watch a movie/read a fiction novel. Let yourself get caught up in a story sometimes, itās okay.Ā
Meditate to connect with yourself more.Ā
Take a bath.Ā
Take a random bus/train to anywhere - donāt have a destination in mind, just go and enjoy the journey!Ā
Dance naked around your roomā¦if youāre truly alone, do that crazy shit that you can never do in front of others.Ā
Adopt a cute pet. Big eyes, furry back, cute pawsā¦helps a lot of people with loneliness.Ā
Reach out to a loved one who you donāt talk to enough. Reconnect with people. Force yourself to have conversations. Eventually, it will be more natural.Ā
Go for a walk/run somewhere.Ā
Go to a coffee shop, have small talk with people youāll never see again.Ā
Disconnect from social media for some time.Ā
Make your bed, clean your room, cook yourself somethingā¦etc.Ā
Get a camera and take pictures of beautiful things you see outside. Create an album of beautiful sights you see around you (a dog barking, a child laughing, a balloon on a front stepā¦etc.)Ā
Attend classes in your community like yoga, pole dancing, trampoline dancing, paintingā¦etc.Ā
Start a 5 minute gratitude journal and record things that youāre thankful for, however small.Ā
Watch inspiring TED talks.Ā
Plan an imaginary (or a future) holiday - even put it down on paper!Ā
Create something new - a song, a story, a poem, a drawing, a paintingā¦just create something channeling whatever you feel.Ā
Do something crazy. Donāt live your life in fear. Just dive into life head-first. Put yourself out there. Be uncomfortable sometimes. The loneliness will cease when you find yourself amongst all the craziness. :)Ā
