Prayer wheels are used to spread spiritual blessings and wellbeing. The mantra Om Mani Padme Hum is traditionally carved on the prayer wheels, and one can read the prayers by spinning the prayer wheel. Here’s to blessings and wellbeing for 2018! #NaturallyNepal #HTM2017 #TBIN (at Swayambhunath in Kathmandu, Nepal)
A yellow tinged sunset greeted me on my first views of the Annapurna hills, on the other side the brooding mountains were hidden in a thick blanket of clouds #htm2017 (at tanshen bajar, Palpa)
When you leave #Nepal, it sure knows how to leave a lasting impression with one final look. This view is complements of my @turkishairlines flight from #Kathmandu! #HTM2017 (at Kathmandu, Nepal)
As the largest stupa in Kathmandu and one of the largest in South Asia, the Boudhanath stupa is 36 meters high and is the center of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal. The stupa was historically a sacred site on the ancient trade route to Tibet where Tibetan merchants and traders would rest and pray for a safe journey through the Himalayas. It has remained an important place of pilgrimage and meditation both for local Nepalis and Tibetan Buddhists since 1959 when thousands of Tibetans arrived in Nepal after the Chinese invasion. #HTM2017 #naturallynepal (at Bouddhanath)
More from Kathmandu.. The Boudhanath is one of the world's largest stupas. The gold-topped Buddhist monument was damaged in the 2015 earthquake but has since been restored. Tibetan refugees settled around the Boudhanath in the 1950's so there's lots of Tibetan character in the area around it. #htm2017 (at Boudhanath Stupa)

A sadhu in Pashupatinath. Sadhus are holy persons who have renounced worldly life. Traditionally, they live solitary lives subsisting on alms and owning nothing but what they carry. They can be very easily witnessed at Pashupatinath, the largest temple in Nepal dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. #htm2017 (at Pashupatinath, Nepal)
