Education Authority iPad Project
A local technology college, that had a vision of being the leaders in the education space, for innovative technology, got part way through a project to deliver IPads to all pupils and staff, to provide a more flexible learning environment, but they just had one last challenge before this project could go live, it was around the application delivery and data security. We worked with them on this to solve the problem through innovation. This was done by implementing a virtual application delivery mechanism, which as well as delivering the applications in a secure method, also integrated a SAN storage option. So at all times the applications and data are available through any browser including the IPad Safari browser, then seamlessly delivers as an icon to the desktop. With a built in backup facility if anyone forgot there device, they still have the option to connect in from one of the terminals in the school, with internet access.
