“thanks for meeting me here, dude. i feel like i haven’t seen you all week.” owen had been taking up extra hours at the animal shelter, but that in no way hindered his ability to spend time with alex. in fact, they had breakfast together pretty much every morning and winded down with a show or a movie together pretty much every night. if you had asked florencia why they brought alex along with them to the animal shelter, they’d claim it was so he could be the self control they didn’t have around animals. HOWEVER, it was clear that whenever the two got together, florencia had to be the voice of reason. not that they minded, it was just a lot harder for them to keep it up for themselves all the time. especially as she’s knelt next to the ferrets, her hand on the glass as she watches them move around behind it. “what if i just got a cute ferret for the stalk market? just someone to keep me company during our slowest parts. tell me it’s a bad idea.”

owen’s seven shots in ( or is it eight? ) and his head is spinning for a number of reasons. alex has just asked ❝ WHERE IS THE BIRTHDAY BOY? ❞ over the mic, so he’s definitely obligated to show his face. although, he does feel like he’s already seen so many people. still, he would never complain about seeing alex. he makes his way over to the stage where the dj is set up and currently bumping music, hoping that’s where alex is as well. “I’M RIGHT HERE, DUDE.”

“alex,” jackson calls out in a soft voice, trying not to wake up his baby asleep in his arms. “alex!” he hisses a little louder to catch the other’s attention, still gently rocking noah. “can you help me out here, please?” eyes move towards the empty bottle in his hand, wanting the male to take it away so that he could place his sleeping son in the crib. josie wasn’t home but it was pretty common for jackson to almost always be there -- or even at the eatery -- whenever he wasn’t scheduled to work.

isadora holds up the shirt alex has brought her. it’s absolutely TATTERED, rips and holes everywhere. she pretends to inspect it carefully, but knows it’s far beyond repair. “um, alex,” she starts, dropping her arms and sitting the shirt in her lap. “may i ask... how did your shirt even get like this in the first place?”
