WiP - Alma - Painting Parts - Pt 1
So we have a super weird boquet of flowers once again. Be amazed by my storage skills for wet paint :')
Jokes aside this is how chaotic working on several parts at once looks like.
First off was coating all the mods and some unmodded parts in layers of white paint to a) give them texture and b) cover the gray of the Apoxy.
Some needed several layers and yes some parts look super messy inbetween this is a huge status of "trust the process" here.
I will group the different pieces for less chaos here. This is the progress of the feet. I tried to blush them (they didn't got a layer of white paint and that ... sadly showed), but well... it was horrible. So I decided to paint them and then coat them with glue to give them a more plastic/layered effect to the rest of the feet.
Same procedure for the leg joint parts here, here the glue is also a protective layer .. I hope it will minimize the damage (and hopefully not limit the movement too much), we will see how/if this helps or not. Worst would be the paintjob to be damaged in the end. I didn't want to get dye for like 4 pieces again :/
This part was the least exciting, but here you can see I also have some texture on the legs, I even added more later on. I want to give him a more mechanic look here and there to underline the Akuma Transformation.
Most fun was seeing this parts come together. At first I was not sure if the red was the best choice (yeah I know he is shown in purples a lot but Allen's curse is also shown purple around that time).
Also this is my main ref here, aside a lot of Manga panels, I really love the use of colors here for Alma. You also see why I went for a darker blue wig with light highlight colors.
But I have to say I really dig this. It looks super cool already, I am very looking forward to match the torso parts to this.
Now to wait until everything is dried/cured to continue.
