As soon as you get a Rohloff in your hands you understand why they cost as much as a good frame.
Smooth, is the best word to describe it, I’ve had Sturmey Archers in 3 and 5 speed, nexus in 3, 7 and 8 speeds, and none has come remotely close.
Granted, all those igh combined cost less than this hub gear. It’s also got nearly more gears than all the others combined.
You do get what you pay for.
