I don't write with music. If I want to write, no matter what's playing, I turn it off.
Okay, so I'm pretty discouraged/disappointed with all my writing, and I'm afraid none of my current WIPs are ever going to be finished. But have a delicious (I think) bit from Revanche:
“You asked me to marry you,” he reminded her, surprising even himself with the coldness of his tone. “And I obliged, thinking that I would find in you a sweet and loving wife. I took all the expenses of the wedding upon me so that no one would think to say I was trying to take advantage of your fortune. You knew that man was coming back!” The pain came forth like a tidal wave, and yet she didn’t even blink at his outburst. “You knew it and you asked me to marry you, what for? To make him jealous? To get your revenge?”
She threw her shoulders back, somehow managing to look down on him even from her seated position. “I don’t owe you an explanation. I am carrying my fair weight in this marriage, and what I feel about him or anyone else is none of your concern.”
