This fantastic rant has been seen as a temperamental actress losing her shit. But Lily Tomlin is a comedic genius, and she’s complaining about the uneven tone that ruined the movie, so she was absolutely right. Dustin Hoffman is as sweet as you imagine he would be.

What I like is that she can’t stop being funny, even when she’s so justifiably pissed off. It’s a joy from beginning to end. 

Well, except when the sound went out at the end. There had to be gold in that lost audio. You can see by her hand gestures that she was still fired up.
