Evening Glow
I observed so many active QLINE trains yesterday on my short walk as I enjoyd the holiday decor and updates to Hudson’s Site. There’s something festive about hearing the train bell and seeing people get on and off as they head to their destination. Sense of community is one of the reasons I am so passionate about public transportation.
Shortly after I got home, I read about Dan Gilbert’s pitch for expanded public transit in Metro Detroit- another step in the right direction. He’s absolutely right- millennials (including myself) and Gen Z do “brag” about not having to own a car. After all, we are a *city* where walkability, clean air, and accessible transportation (should be) our right.
Sometimes I have wondered if my 16 years moving around the United States documenting life in different cities was for nothing, but now living in Detroit, I know why I did. 🌿 11/30/23
