sirius’ secondary house is hufflepuff
a concept
let me explain
so like i have this idea in my head that sirius is one of the most inherently lovely people on earth
i don’t know why
but it’s there
and so like we know that james is pure, unmatched gryffindor, nothing else considered
remus was nearly ravenclaw since he’s very analytical and genuinely enjoys learning
and peter is slytherin because unfortunately he would rather earn the favour of the dark lord to protect himself rather than protect his friends
so, sirius
sirius is a little bean as you may have gathered from my other posts
but i feel like barely anyone talks about his hufflepuff aspects, mostly because they’re very masked by what i feel like is defensiveness due to his past
he feels like he needs to be completely gryffindor to make sure that everyone knows that he is definitely not like his family, it was a more extreme way to appear rather than being quiet and kind if that makes sense
anyway
let’s get on with his traits
so we all know sirius is very very very loyal
“i would have DIED”
he has always been shown to be a really dramatic, all or nothing character
(pretty gæ)
but what about the not so dramatic aspects of his loyalty?
things like not wanting to be in the common room without one of the other boys in there
declining multiple people’s offers to go on dates to hogsmede if he already had plans with the marauders
waiting for the one of his friends outside of their classroom if they had the same subject next
he knows how it feels to be given the cold shoulder, so he never ever wants one of his friends to feel that way, even if it’s over something small
i also think he’s an extremely kind person when presented with the opportunity
like yes, he has a lot of male bravado, but i feel like that’s very influenced by people around him
when it’s just him he’s very sweet and thoughtful
he likes to surprise the marauders a lot with their favourite things
he adores hugs
he helps the tiny tiny first years find their way to class (cause back when he was a tiny tiny first year he’d get very confused, being one of the smallest in the year)

finally, i can see him being really hardworking when he wants to
i think he probably gets this again from his upbringing, not wanting to mess anything up or disappoint anyone
he knows when he studies with remus that he does actually need to do the work, so that remus will be proud of him
he tries really hard to be the best beater he can be for quidditch
and in terms of pranks, he’s always looking for ways in which they can be more memorable and funny, sometimes working overtime to prepare them
so yeah, idk if i explained this well but here it is anyway and i hope you enjoyed it
