hugemiscalculation replied to your post “when I hear someone say that Souji/Yu is the most level-headed and...”
But why does he have two names?
One’s for show and one’s for glow!? XD
Nah, Souji Seta was his name in official Manga (and Persona Q) and it’s the one people seem to prefer!
Yu Narukami came from the Anime and sorta stuck through further spin-offs of the game. Think the pun of Yu (You) works well in that case.
I’m sorta use to calling him Souji, since a majority of the fandom, particularly fanfic writers do the same thing. It’s a matter of taste really which one you prefer! There are a lot of debates though on which one is the true name (I tend to ignore them XD)
Don’t even get me started on the Persona 3 Protagonist’s canon names! Minato Arisato/Makoto Yuuki/Sakuya Shiomi/Yuri Lowenthal number 1!
hugemiscalculation replied to your post “hugemiscalculation replied to your post: I die every time I hear how...”
Oh my god, that dub version is atrocious XD And I'd forgotten about the KOUJACK announcer, ahahaha
The dub is so painful, I’m still in a mindset that this is some big prank XD AND YES THAT ANNOUNCER IS THE BEST, my friend and I have a inside joke that whenever we talk about the characters we call them by their announcer name voice!
hugemiscalculation replied to your post: I die every time I hear how the dub says “koujaku”...
Out of curiosity, how would you pronounce it?
I pronounce it like they do in japanese. Ko-u-jaku, so sorta of holding the ‘ou’ sound for a little longer than it looks, and adding a bit more emphasis to the ‘u’ than the ‘o’, in the english dub the seem to leave out the u bit when pronouncing his name and it sorta goes UP down Up with emphasis.
It’s sorta weird to explain how I pronounce it but I hope this sorta helps!
(When referring to how the game screwed it up, I mean with the introduction things, the announcer just calls him KOUJACK instead of remembering the ‘u’ at the end XD)
if it helps here is how Aoba says it in the game to how he says it in the dub

For the Fandom Ask Me: E, L, and Y!
E - Have you added anything stupid/cracky/hilarious to your fandom, if so, what
Do all my Movie Souyo AUs count! I had one for Princess Diaries and Ella Enchanted.....don’t ask!
L - Your favorite fanartist/author gives you one request, what do you ask for
Draw or write a Princess Diaries or Ella Enchanted Souyo AU!
Y - A fandom you’re in but have no ships from
Probably Gravity Falls, i just enjoy the show for the mystery and comedy. Not really for the romance! I prefer listening to the theories of the fandom too instead of the shipping!
1, 2, 20!
1. Describe yourself how you would describe a character you’re introducingHe was fairly non-descript, one of those faces that just blends into any crowd. Utterly forgettable, except for the eyes-- those were beady, serial killer’s eyes.
2. Is there any specific ritual you go through while/before/after your writing?fuck fuck fuck fuck I said I would do this I said I would do this why am I not doing this NO STOP THINKING OF TEN OTHER THINGS YOU’LL NEVER WRITE INSTEAD OF ACTUALLY WRITING THIS THING YOU PROMISED ITWHY IS THIS SO HARDoh that wasn’t so bad WAIT WHY DID I SAY THAT NOBODY CARES
20. 4 sentences from your work that you’re proud of
“‘Let’s wake up Shepard,’” came Wilson’s voice, floating on an almost solid foundation of sarcasm. “‘She’ll know what to do. She’ll get us out of here and save the day.’ And it’s working out so wonderfully, Miranda.”
"I’m sorry, Commander, what was that? I couldn’t hear you over the sound of your shambling corpse."
“I’m afraid I must insist,” said a third voice over the radio. Unlike the other two, who were clearly batarian and male, this one was lilting and feminine - in the way that a twelve-gauge shotgun was feminine if you painted it pink and added lace. It was a hard voice, edged with experience and authority, a voice that hinted at being sinuous and sensual if it wasn't already busy with beating the listener to death in a back alley somewhere. Aria herself, Shepard presumed.
His accent was nearly as rough as his visage. The second syllable of “asking” was almost an afterthought, tacked onto the end of his aggressive vowel movement.
