When the Ulisserai chose which species of Oscana to nurture and guide, the orcs were picked last. The other Ashani thought them too aggressive and warlike and were unsure what to do with them. But Orandis spoke up and said that they would guide the orcs using culture. Orandis saw what the others did not, the orcs were not violent beasts, there was a deep and complex culture too. Orandis encouraged the orcs towards the parts of their nature that were concerned with art, games, and music. Violence was in their very nature as a species, Orandis respected this and rather than try to eliminate it, he aimed to temper it only.. The resulting society is very focussed on internal fighting and climbing the social ladder through shows of strength. However, art, culture, and refinement, are deeply seeded in orcs's lives and traditions
