Hannibal was nothing if not a vain man. There were many rooms in his mind palace . What he had neglected to mention to Will (and Bedelia) was the number of rooms with many mirrors where he could admire himself unreservedly from many angles.

He spent hours in those rooms - he was endlessly fascinating to himself. It also helped him style his hair just right. He so wished he could bring Will into his mind palace. Have Will undress while standing over a mirror. Hannibal wanted to see him from every possible angle. Or press a lovely, gently perspiring Will with kiss-reddened lips up against a mirror, and proceed to have his wicked way with him.
