Gary Numan could be his generation's Bryan Ferry or, better, one of the best sophisti-pop singers. If you want to find a proof for this outrageous claim, do not check his solo works or his Tubeway Army, though they do have their traces of that, look into another band of his – Radio Heart. True, it does sound generically 80's on occasions, but it gives an approximatiom of Ferry doing his songs with the synthpop musicians of that period. The reason I call it an estimate is thanks to Numan's voice. His vocals do not achieve the ennui similar to Ferry's, Numan's detachment has been already greater in his other pieces. Still, he does not present it as such on his collaboration with Radio Heart. No, he does let his emotions show, tempering it by maintaining all is fine.
