guys im actually going wild over this. imagine youre sae itoshi and your semi-estranged younger brother is dating a man who looks just like you. and not just any man. another ng11, your rival, one of the only people who comes close to you in terms of skill.

imagine youre rin and youre dating this french guy who MAYBE happens to look a LITTLE like your brother but thats not why youre dating him okay hes like nice or whatever i guess. imagine "accidentally" calling him by a nickname you used to use for your brother.... or maybe just straight up calling him nii-chan and telling him its a cultural thing everyone does it....

imagine youre hugo and your japanese boyfriend keeps calling you brother and talking about how much he hates his brother and how his dream is to dominate defeat his brother and the first time you see a picture of said brother, doing a double take because? that could be your cousin?

theres two versions of this either rin knows what hes doing or it genuinely just happened like that but i think this is most appealing with past codependent saerin who were really close with neglectful parents and rin who is actively seeking out someone to replace sae in his life. ofc this version ends with hugosaerin. obviously.

The first time Hugo touched Rin's chest, he had to rub his hand against his cheek in awe, staring at Rin like a lost kid

"I hate HugoRin because Hugo looks so similar to Sae it feels morally wrong-" boohooo well sucks for you because the appeal of HugoRin comes from the fact that Hugo looks like Sae. Rin would be a blushing mess because he treats him possessively, sth he wished Sae did to him while Sae seethes in the corner.

Okay but like HugoRin where Hugo KNOWS how much he looks like Sae and of course EVERYONE has picked up on the weird dynamics between the Itoshi siblings, so he uses that to his advantage with Rin, praising him and getting him addicted to that praise so he keeps coming back around to Hugo and becoming dependent to him because if he squints just enough then It's like Sae is the one praising him and he just can't get enough at the possibility of that.

I love this so much!

Hugo, for me, comes off as a truly shameless and morale-less person who would do anything to devour the object of his affection (Rin) and he doesn't mind imitating Sae to reach that goal.

He slowly but surely breaks Rin's hard walls and pretends to be a caring friend or senior who sees potential in him. At first it's all about soccer but then he starts saying how it's a pity that a prodigy like Rin has to run after Sae when it should be the opposite. "You're a gem for all midfielders" "if you were my baby brother, I'd never think of playing soccer without you"

It's as if Hugo is the manifestation of all of Rin's dark and guilty desires, especially how attentive and sweet Hugo is like his Nii-chan from the past who spoiled Rin. It gets more addicting as Hugo starts to touch Rin more intimately and casually compliments him while looking so similar to Sae that it made Rin's taboo desires purr from satisfaction. And just like Hugo desired, Rin became dependent on him to feel assured about himself and getting the attention he so badly desired and it didn't take long for Hugo to lure the younger into his bed, purring under him and looking at the face that resembled his big brother with an infatuated look while his body opened up obediently for Hugo.
